Cristalla Tower, completed in 2005, is a prominent luxury residential high-rise situated in the heart of downtown Seattle. The 23-story building comprises 195 upscale condominium units and three levels of underground parking.
Its striking architectural design features a mix of cladding materials, including terra-cotta, concrete masonry, sheet metal panels, glass curtain walls, and punched windows, offering a modern aesthetic that seamlessly integrates with the building's historic base. The lower levels of Cristalla incorporate a terra-cotta facade from the Crystal Pool, an Italian Renaissance-style building dating back to 1906, preserving the heritage of the streetscape while adding a contemporary touch to the skyline.
The project scope included serving as the waterproofing consultant for the architect of record, Weber Thompson, assisting with the design and detailing of the exterior cladding systems, unit decks, roofing, and below-grade waterproofing systems. Throughout the design development, construction documentation, and construction administration phases, we provided expertise to ensure the long-term durability and performance of the building's envelope.
